I joined Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ in 2022 after a varied and interesting career. I qualified as an occupational therapist in 1988 from the London School of Occupational Therapy (now Brunel University London) and have practiced in Australia and Germany, mainly in older adults mental health and community care. I worked for the Royal College of Occupational Therapists as their policy officer for Scotland (2012-2016).
I love relating policy to practice and using it as a tool to influence and advocate for the profession and for the people we work with and for. I am interested in how the profession has developed internationally especially in relation to Dementia services. I am passionate about rights especially in relation to occupation and the environment for people living with dementia. I enjoy sharing knowledge and experience and also love to learn. I am a mother to three grown up daughters, a dog and cat lover, art lover, travel lover and all things culinary.
