Ian qualified as an Adult Nurse from the University of Edinburgh in 2006.Ìý
He worked within a variety of acute care settings, primarily focussing on GI, Renal and Transplant areas, prior to moving to a Hospital at Night Advanced practice role, where he completed studies to qualify as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Ian currently maintains a half-time role as an ANP within the Edinburgh Transplant Centre, caring for liver, renal, pancreas and islet cell transplant patients. He completed his MSc studies whilst working within the Edinburgh Transplant Centre.
Ian has wide experience in facilitating learning in Higher Education settings, contributing to a variety of programmes (University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ) as a Visiting/Associate Lecturer for a number of years prior to his current post. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research interests relate to prescribing, advanced clinical practice and clinical human factors.
My primary teaching responsibility lies with the Independent and Supplementary Prescribing for Healthcare Professionals programme. This is an NMC and HCPC regulated programme.
