If you apply as a volunteer consumer panellists, the Scottish Centre for Food Development and Innovation asks for your explicit consent to hold your personal data, so that we may invite you to participate in research on consumer goods, for example food and drinks.

This data includes contact data and information about your work and household circumstances, and certain aspects relating to your health such as dietary requirements. When we undertake new product tests, we will potentially ask you further information which allows us to assess your suitability for example use or buying habits for a specific product. No personal information will be shared with third parties.

We will hold your personal data for a period of five years after your last interaction with us.

You have the right to ask us to provide you with your personal data (including a machine-readable format in some circumstances), the right to have certain data erased or corrected and conditional rights to restrict us from processing your data, and to object to us processing your data. You have the right to escalate any data privacy complaints to the Information Commissioner’s Office - Scotland.

Please note that any comments or opinions provided as part of testing is anonymised and therefore is not held as attributable data.
