Induction Checklist
If you have been unable to attend induction, these are the steps you will need to take in order to study at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. If you require any advice or support, please speak with our support staff who will be happy to help!
Complete Online Matriculation
You can complete Online Matriculation via the .
You will only be able to complete the matriculation process once you receive an email from Registry@qmu.ac.uk confirming that you are able to do so. Your Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Student number will be the same as your Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Application/Matriculation number.
To generate a password for the Student Portal, fill in the following details on this page (making sure to leave no gaps in any of the boxes): Ìý

Upload your Photo for your Student Smartcard
Student Smartcards are used for security, ID purposes and for taking books out of the library.
Once you have completed online matriculation, a link to the Photo Upload System (in a pink box) will appear on the Student Portal. You can us this link to submit your photo.
If you are asked for login details when accessing this page, your 'Username' will be your email address (e.g. 12345678@qmu.ac.uk) and the password will be the one you have generated during the Matriculation process.

Log on to Canvas
Canvas
Canvas is the new Virtual Learning Environment replacing The Hub (Blackboard Learn) at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ from the start of the 2023/24 academic year.

Visit the Learning Resource Centre (Library / LRC)
Using the Learning Resource Centre (LRC/Library) effectively is crucial to getting good grades in your assessments. This session will show you how to get started with the Learning Resource Centre with links to key information on how to find information in books and journals and to help you use our systems.
A Liaison Librarian from each subject area has produced a video introducing you to the LRC, which you can view below and find out more about your Liaison Librarian by clicking on their name.

Tuition Fees & Funding
Proof of Tuition Fee Funding: If you are sponsored by SAAS or Student Finance NI / England / Wales you do not need to bring your sponsor letter with you to induction. If you are being sponsored by your employer or other external organisation then please email this information to Registry@qmu.ac.uk or submit this information during matriculation (online registration).
