This is a portrait of Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, that we have stored in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ archives. Princess Louise was the first patron of Edinburgh College of Domestic Science, from 1875 until her death in 1939.
Princess Louise was the sixth child and fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. As well as being active in the movement for women’s rights, she was known to be a talented artist and sculptor.
